What's New In CAMS Enterprise - Update Release 20.3.0

This document describes the items deployed in the 20.3.0 CAMS Enterprise Update Release. Enhancements, modifications, and system corrections are included and categorized primarily by module. Those items needing CAMS Manager attention have been noted as such. For detailed information and instructions on functionality additions and changes, refer to the online help files located in the CAMS Enterprise application and/or the updated PDF manuals which can be downloaded from the Community 4U Website. Note that portal updates are not automatically installed on your site and must be applied by your institution.

Due to RDS.DataSpace replacement calls, it is now necessary to re-register the Service Broker assembly required for web service access to CAMS Enterprise:

On the CAMS IIS Server, open an elevated Command Prompt window
Change your current directory to the CAMS Enterprise Installation Path
Change your current directory to CAMSServices\ServiceBroker and run reg.bat
Type exit and press enter to close the Command Prompt window

General

Message Classes (DSDF21OP, PGMR21OP and PGRC21OP) are now available for import.
The ACT 2020-2021 Import now supports the CSV format.
SQL Scripts created to move Document Tracking images from database storage to file system storage.
Changed Texas Report CBM001 high school code to output regardless of high school state and first-time student.
As a security improvement, portals are now required to run on https.

After updating Portal URLs to https,

1. Update the ApplicationURL value in each portal's global.asa file.

2. Update the Portal URLs in CAMS Enterprise. CAMS Manager > Lookup Table Options > Portal URL Ref.

Registration

Added “Identify As” criteria to Registration's Directory Reports.
Optimized Degree Audit setup to resolve issues that may occur when saving changes to larger records.
Improved Degree Audit setup. Added Course Search capability on the Courses tab. Added Course Search capability on the the Groups tab when Adding Courses to a Group. Use the new Search field to search by Dept, Course ID, Course Type, and Course Name. Then, select the Enter key on the keyboard. In most cases, separate each field with a "." (period) or substitute field with a "."

Faculty

Faculty office fields were added to the more tab in Faculty > Maintenance > Modify.

CAMS Manager

CAMS now allows user to Delete the reference table record the same way as Add and Update.

Tools

Changed the NSLC stored procedure code so that the status effective date will be reported anytime the status doesn’t match the last run; even for full time.
The ACT 2020-2021 Import now supports the CSV format. There is a new menu item (Tools > Import > Admissions > Test Score Mapping) where you can choose the fields from the CSV file you want to import as test scores. The selected fields must be Numeric and NOT Null in order to import.
Corrected ISIR Import and Printing for 2021-2022 year. (Tools > Import > Financial Aid > ISIR direct). ISIR’s are printed from the ISIR tab on Financial Aid > Maintenance.

Portals

Student Portal

Fixed bug in Student Portal that wouldn’t allow students to change their working term after canceling registration due to new Chrome browser restrictions.

How to Update Portals

***CAMS Manager Action Needed

Portal files will be downloaded to your CAMS Enterprise \ Portal Updates directory.

If you do not (or have not yet) customized your portals, follow these instructions: MOVE all files from the CAMS Enterprise\Portal Updates\[PortalName] folder to the installation directory for the matching portal. Do not copy the folders but only the files in those sub-folders to the same sub-folder in the matching portal folder.

If you do customize your portals follow these instructions: After making a backup of your customized portal pages, move the stock portal files for this update to the installation directory for your specific Portal. Then apply your customizations to the new, stock portal files.
