What's New In CAMS Enterprise - Update Release 18.1.0

1. General

1. Two Microsoft Windows Security Updates (KB4338424 and KB4340556) result in a 500 Internal Server Error upon logging in to CAMS Enterprise or portals. If these patches have been installed, refer to the workarounds and additional documentation on the CAMS Community website.
2. T2202A functionality has been improved. Canadian schools are advised to back up T2202A-related files, tables, views, and stored procedures before installing the 18.1.0 release.
3. Addressed security concerns regarding Access Campus. Users restricted by Access Campus will notice decreased accessibility in search and report functionality across various modules in CAMS Enterprise.
4. Enhanced the CAMS News feed on the Enterprise Home Screen to provide routine updates from Unit4 directly to end users.
5. Updated Payment Select portal pages for increased security.
6. Updated PayPal PayFlow Pro portal pages to accommodate TLS 1.2 encryption.

2. Admissions

1. Corrected an issue with Prospect BYOR's Entry Verification Report grouping scores from multiple tests under a single Test Name.
2. The US Citizen field can now be set to blank for cases in which citizenship is not yet known.
3. Redesigned functionality for importing of transcripts via APAS (Apply Alberta).

3. Registration

1. Resolved an issue where users would sometimes receive a scheduling conflict error when no obvious conflict existed.
2. For Master Course records with blank Types, it is no longer necessary to select a blank value from the Type drop-down when adding the course as a pre-requisite to another Master Course.
3. The Standard by Student Schedule report will now always return the advisor linked to the Primary Program record. If none exists, then the advisor associated with the first record sorted alphabetically by Major will be used.
4. GPA values shown in Transcript Maintenance should now always match the transcript report format per Round/Truncate and Decimal Positions configuration settings.
5. Degree Audit will now mark appropriate courses and groups as Completed despite Repeat flags set by the HIGHWOHIST Repeat Policy.

4. Billing

1. Created a new help file detailing the calculation logic of the 1098-T Form process. A link to this document can be found in the opening paragraphs of the 1098 Form help file.

5. Financial Aid

1. The Grade Level In College ISIR field value should now correctly populate the Full Detail and Full ISIR Reports for 2018-2019 import files.
2. Added an option for Unmarried Living Together to the Parents Marital Status ISIR field.
3. In Prioritized Packaging, the Methodology tab will now display all eligible students even if they have met their lifetime amount for an award.
4. Fixed the calculation for Unsubsidized Lifetime Limits. It now includes the sum of actual Subsidized and Unsubsidized lifetime amounts as reported on the ISIR.

6. Development

1. The SSN Masking setting on the CAMS User profile will now apply to the Development Module.

7. Tools

1. The 2019 Program Year selection is now available in the COD Export screen.
2. 2018-2019 COD Message Classes are now available for import.
3. ACES2 Processing has been redesigned and the help file updated to reflect new functionality.

How to Update Portals

***CAMS Manager Action Needed

Portal files will be downloaded to your CAMS Enterprise \ Portal Updates directory.

If you do not (or have not yet) customized your portals, follow these instructions: MOVE all files from the CAMS Enterprise\Portal Updates\[PortalName] folder to the installation directory for the matching portal. Do not copy the folders but only the files in those sub-folders to the same sub-folder in the matching portal folder.

If you do customize your portals follow these instructions: After making a backup of your customized portal pages, move the stock portal files for this update to the installation directory for your specific Portal. Then apply your customizations to the new, stock portal files.

8. Faculty Portal

1. Resolved an issue with the Online Test's Description field which sometimes generated garbage characters within the description text.
2. Adjusted stored procedures and views related to Midterm and Final Grade calculations in order to normalize values across various screens and remain consistent with documentation formulas.
3. Fixed a functioncall typo in the Copy Default Grade Scale page.

9. Student Portal

1. Google Chrome users were sometimes unable to view graded documents. This has been corrected.
2. Created a customizable "Accept/Decline" page upon login similar to the Faculty Portal's FERPA page.

Portal files that were added or changed with the 18.1.0 update

Important note about portal updates: When portal updates are distributed, it is not only the portal pages that are modified but also the associated COM objects. If you have moved your portals to a server separate from the CAMS Enterprise IIS server, you will need to ensure that you also update those COM files. To do this you will need to follow the instructions in item 1 below and either item 2a or 2b depending on how you have your portal server set up.

1. Copy uiCEUpload.dll, CAMSSession.dll, LanapBotDetect.dll files from the UIDLL folder under CAMS Enterprise to the portal server and register them with regsvr32.dll

2a. If you copy the files over as a proxy package, you will need to uninstall the previous packages before installing the new packages. Ensure that you copy the CAMS and CAMSAD packages over to your portal server.

OR

2b. If you do not use the proxy package, you will need to do the following:

• Copy all the .DLL files in the MTSDLL folder under CAMS Enterprise to the portal server and re-register them in COM

• Copy the CAMSAD.dll file in the MTSDLL\CAMSAD folder to the portal server and register it/re-register it in its own package (i.e.: CAMSAD). The package should run with user privileges (identity). If the portals are on a domain other than the user account the CAMSAD package runs under, that user account must also be a user on the other domain if you want to log into the student portal using an active directory account from the domain CAMS Enterprise is on.

NOTE: An alternative to the above procedure is to utilize the CAMS Enterprise Web Services functionality. Fewer .DLL files will need to be copied; all communications between the CAMS IIS server and portal server are handled via port 80 or an SSL port; no COM+ object is required. See the Managing CAMS Enterprise document available on CAMS Community Downloads for setup instructions.
