        Student Demographics
        Demographic information includes family, residence, 
 citizenship, and geographic values. Access the Demographics form by clicking 
 Admissions >Student >ChangeStudent orAdd Student >Demographics tab. 
 Much of the information entered on this window is used in the generation 
 of IPEDS (Integrated Postsecondary Education Data) reports.
        Field Descriptions
        The drop-down fields included on this 
 screen that have glossary and reference tables associated with them are 
 listed below:
        
            - Marital 
 Status - Glossary: Marital Status
 
            - Employment 
 Status - Glossary: Employment Status
 
            - Parental 
 Marital Status - Glossary: Marital Status
 
            - Native 
 Language - Glossary: Native Language
 
            - In-House 
 Ethnicity - Glossary: Origins. Only the value entered in In-House 
 Ethnicity is used when reporting ethnicity for IPEDS. Multiple ethnicities may be recorded for a student (for 
 example, a biracial student) through the Ethnicity screen available on 
 the More tab of Student Admissions Information window. Options available 
 for both In-House Ethnicity and ethnicity for IPEDS are pulled from the 
 CAMS Manager Lookup Table Options Table Maintenance Glossary 
 Table Origins table.
 
            - Select the Is 
 Hispanic/Latino check box to display a drop-down where further 
 definition by Hispanic Origin can be selected. The drop-down values are 
 maintained in CAMS Manager >Lookup Table Options >State Reports 
 Lookup.
 
            - Religion

            - Is Employed – Check this to indicate the Student is employed. 
 
            - Has Been Convicted of a Felony - Check this to indicate the Student has been convicted of a felony. 
 
			- Is Currently Incarcerated - Check this to indicate the Student is currently incarcerated. 
 
			- Has Been Incarcerated - Check this to indicate the Student has been incarcerated. 
 
        
        Other fields that can be completed as 
 appropriate include: Date of Birth (MM/DD/YYYY format), Gender, Disability, Veteran, Lives With, Number of Dependents, 
 Drivers License #, Military, Occupation, and Church. The Age field is 
 automatically computed after entering Date of Birth.
        Several fields on the Student Demographics 
 screen are related to SEVIS, the Internet-based system which maintains 
 information on non-immigrant students, exchange visitors, and their dependents. The 
 names of these fields are displayed in orange, and are required if the 
 U.S. Citizen field is set to No. Other SEVIS-related fields include: 
 Birth Country, Visa Type, Visa Exp. Date, Country of Citizenship, Alien 
 ID #, English Proficiency Reqd, and Reason Not Required.
        The English Proficiency Reqd field should 
 be checked if English proficiency is required for admittance of the student. 
 If this field is NOT checked, then the Reason Not Required field should 
 be completed, explaining why English proficiency is not necessary.
